Dr. Madelyn Dones

Pediatric General Care

Dr. Madelyn Dones is a board-certified pediatrician who has been practicing for over 22 years. She was born and raised in Miami, FL and attended high school at Our Lady of Lourdes Academy, where she graduated at the top of her class. After graduating, she attended college at the University of Miami, where she was selected for the Dual-Degree Honors Program in Medicine. She graduated with honors as a Phi Beta Kappa. Dr. Dones attended medical school at the University of Miami School of Medicine, graduating in 1997. She completed her pediatric residency training at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital and graduated as a member of the AOA Medical Honor Society. She was chosen to serve as Pediatric Chief Resident the following year.

Dr. Dones joined Kings Bay Pediatrics in 2001, upon completion of her medical training. She feels privileged to be a part of a prestigious medical practice with such a rich history of providing care to the children of South Florida. When asked what she loves most about being a pediatrician, Dr. Dones responded with, “I love watching newborn babies grow from the womb to adulthood and getting to be part of their entire journey.” She was inspired to be a pediatrician by her own pediatrician, who guided her  future and her first job in a doctor’s office.

Dr. Dones is Board Certified in Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She holds hospital privileges at Baptist Hospital of Miami and South Miami Hospital.

Dr. Dones is married with two children. She enjoys boating, reading, and exploring the world with her family. She is a staunch child advocate, particularly for those with disabilities. Her number one source of inspiration is her teenage son who has special needs. Despite all of his challenges, he is such a happy person who always sees the best in people and finds a way to stay positive.
